Secret Witness is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect driver in an automobile vs. pedestrian hit and run traffic accident on Monday, August 17, 2026, at approximately 8:30 pm, at East 9th Street and Dolomite Circle.
At approximately 8:33 PM personnel from the Reno Police Department, Reno Fire Department, and REMSA responded to reports of a crash involving a vehicle versus pedestrian at the intersection of East 9th St. and Dolomite Cir. A 5 year-old juvenile was chasing a ball in the street when he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling westbound on 9th St. After striking the child, the driver fled the area and did not stop, or attempt to render aid. The juvenile was transported to the hospital with severe life threatening injuries. At this time there is not a vehicle or driver description.
The Reno Police Department M.A.I.T. (Major Accident Investigation Team) is handling the investigation. Investigators believe there may be numerous witnesses that left prior to police arrival. RPD is urging them to call with any information.
