Secret Witness is offering a $5,000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects responsible for a body located northwest of Sun Valley. On Friday, August 21, 2026, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a deceased individual located off the dirt extension of Chimney Road. Washoe County Sheriff’s Office detectives continue to actively investigate the circumstances surrounding the individual’s death. Detectives believe the decedent may have been at the location for an extended period of time before being discovered. Anyone with information related to this case, including anyone who was in, or frequented the area, prior to the discovery of the decedent and observed anything suspicious can anonymously pass their information to the Sheriff’s Office through Secret Witness.
