Secret Witness is offering a reward, the amount to be determined, for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect, Erick Bernal, wanted in connection with the shooting of a police officer in the area of Kietzke Lane just north of Peckham Lane Reno, NV.
On March 2, 2017 at approximately 9:40 p.m. Reno Police Department Officers initiated a traffic stop in the above area. A shot was fired from within the vehicle injuring a police officer. Two suspects exited the vehicle, shots were fired, one suspect was injured, and the other fled on foot. The injured suspect was declared deceased at the hospital. The police officer is reported to be in stable condition. The fleeing suspect, Erick Bernal, is described as a Hispanic male, 17 years old, approximately 5’8” tall, 135 pounds with a shaved head.
Washoe County Sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the suspect.
