On August 8, 2012 at 5:07am RPD officers responded to the 900 Blk of Brinkby Ave. on a reported shooting. Upon arrival officers located a female victim in the driveway of a residence with multiple gunshot injuries. REMSA arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Detectives responded to the scene and continued the investigation. Preliminary information is the victim had just driven up to the residence and a moment later was shot outside of her car by an unknown assailant who fled the area. The area was checked but the suspect has not been located. At this time there is no suspect information being released. The motive for the shooting is unknown and detectives are continuing their investigation.
The deceased female victim is a 32yr old Reno Resident. Her name is being withheld pending notification of her next of kin.
