Washoe County Sheriff’s Office detectives in conjunction with the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office are updating the public today on a death investigation which began in the early morning hours of Thursday, February 3, 2022, on the southbound lanes of I-580. A deceased woman was found in a burning vehicle. Detectives are now investigating the woman’s death as a homicide. The woman has been identified by the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office as Anna Scott, 23, of Reno. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. The manner of death was homicide. According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, the cause of death is pending further investigation. Authorities are looking for any information regarding this case which could help detectives determine Scott’s movements and contacts throughout the hours and days preceding February 3, 2022.
