Secret Witness is offering a reward in the amount of $2,500.00 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect wanted in connection with the hit and run of a male moped rider, 44 year old Eric Thomas, in the area of McCarran Blvd. and Northtowne Lane Reno, NV.
On July 7, 2012 a mid-size grey or silver SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Trailblazer, overtook and struck a moped which was traveling westbound in the bike lane on McCarran Blvd. The male rider and the moped remained attached to the suspect vehicle for several hundred feet. After the collision the suspect vehicle fled the scene towards Hwy 395 with no attempt to stop or render aid and is still outstanding. The moped rider was transported to Renown Medical Center and subsequently died from his injuries.
Reno Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.
