The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an ongoing arson involving a series of small brush fires reported in the Spanish Springs area. Over the past several months, local fire agencies and, in some instances, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies have responded to fires set in brush areas near residential neighborhoods on the west side of Pyramid Highway, from Dolores Drive north to Eagle Canyon Drive. Fortunately, none of the fires have resulted in structural damage or posed an immediate threat to homes. However, because these incidents occurred near residential areas, the Sheriff’s Office is encouraging residents to remain aware of their surroundings. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding these fires and to identify the individual or individuals involved.
